Washington Redskins signal caller Robert Griffin III celebrated Memorial Day the right way yesterday, honoring the past and present troops by sending special edition pairs of his signature adidas RG3 cleats to the Copperas Cove football program in hopes that they will pay homage as well. A Texas town with a strong military presence, Copperas Cove is where RGIII went to school. The specialized version of his signature cleated silhouetted come in a honorary camouflage colorway, with red insides and RGIII’s logo on the tongues. Along with a personal picture of himself holding the cleats while saluting the troops, Griffin III also included a heavy thankful message.
