Atlanta native and former Migos member Quavo unveils his new Air Jordan 1 Low “Rocket Power.” This sneaker was created to promote his upcoming “Rocket Power” album which releases on August 18, 2023.

Quavo’s Air Jordan 1 Low “Rocket Power” sports a crisp white leather upper that is completely monochromatic throughout. The signature Nike Swoosh is embossed with gold star constellations that connect together to spell “ROCKET POWER.” Elsewhere, the “Rocket Power” theme is seen on the heel counter as the sneaker features a small gold rocket complete with an infinity symbol.
The rocket symbol may represent his late nephew and former Migos member, Takeoff, who was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley in November 2022. Being that rocket launches are also referred to as “take off,” the symbol seems to signify the late rapper. With the inclusion of the infinity symbol, Quavo seems to be illustrating “Takeoff ’til infinity.” The infinity symbolism goes even deeper as Quavo and Takeoff had shared their joint album, “Only Built for Infinity Links,” just before Takeoff’s untimely death.
Quavo seems to have briefly touched on this symbolism via Instagram saying, “This Album Is Embodying All My Emotions. Through the process of healing I’ve learned to turn tragedy into triumph. I had to dig deep into my purpose and find the power to keep striving. To my fans, thanks for being patient wit me and supporting Us. To my FAMILY, even when times get hard we kno our MAIN mission is to keep the Rocket name ALIVE. TIL INFINITY.”
