It’s almost unbelievable that it’s been 10-years since Nipsey Hussle dropped The Marathon Continues. This mixtape is a foundational element of Nipsey’s legacy and after his passing in 2019, this mantra has echoed throughout anywhere he’s mentioned. To honor the iconic mixtape comes the PUMA x TMC RS-X3 10th Anniversary Sneakers.
Nipsey was dedicated to uplifting his community and providing hope to the people he felt needed it most. His dedication to activism is captured in the sneakers as the inside of the tongue is marked with “God Got Us.” On the front of the tongue “The Marathon” stands out just above the analog “10” branding that commemorates the anniversary of the mixtape. The upper features a mix of materials including suede and leather, which are dressed in all-black, with the exception of the bright red toebox. The back heel of the sneaker includes a red mud guard and is branded with the “TMC” flag logo, as well as the iconic leaping PUMA imprint. Nipsey’s work ethic is honored with a small fabric tag stating “IHUSSLE” and shoelace tips that read “7 Days A Week.” A photo of the late rapper is printed in black-and-white on the insole, further immortalizing Nipsey and keeping his message grounded.
