Pop Trading Company Combines Menswear and Skateboarding with a New adidas Collection

Amsterdam-based skate collective Pop Trading Company partners with adidas Skateboarding to create an outdoor-inspired footwear and apparel line. Using the flat lowlands of the Netherlands as the collection’s foundation, the limited edition capsule incorporates design cues from skateboarding and premium menswear to create timeless pieces that satisfies skateboarders, fashion aficionados, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

For the first time ever, adidas Skateboarding takes over the TERREX Swift R2 GTX. This hiking silhouette is equipped with waterproof Gore-Tex technology on the membrane liner that blocks wind and rain across changing terrain. The skater-approved sneaker is covered in all-over Pop branding with a bungee speed lacing system and a classic Continental rubber outsole for extra grip.

Using a more traditional skate model, Pop takes the iconic adidas Campus ADV and adorns the sneaker in a ripstop, paired with a toe cap and a hot melt rubber toe bumper that stretches to the heel for extended durability. The sneaker is complete with suede eye stays and a recycled Ortholite sock liner for added comfort during longer sessions.

We were stoked when adidas Skateboarding gave us creative reign to design this range. They trusted our vision and provided us access to adidas’ vault for all categories.

We’re huge fans of the brand’s TERREX products so it was an honor to put our spin on the Swift R2 GTX with Scott Johnston, the brand’s footwear designer.

Our goal was to create a line that fuses skateboarding with menswear, to find elements that complement those two worlds, and deliver something truly unique and unexpected.

We think this collection exceeded our expectations and we’re excited to share it with the world.

Offered in universal sizing for inclusivity, the apparel selection includes a Pop Thermal Long Sleeve, a Pop Tech Tee, Pop Tech Socks, and a Pop Superlite Cap. Standouts from the apparel collection include a durable water-repellent Pop Tech Jacket and matching pant set, which also sports sweat-wicking AEROREADY features to help regulate heat management. The entire apparel collection utilizse adidas’ recycled lightweight Primegreen technology.

In celebration of the collection, adidas Skateboarding dropped the “Pop Trading Company” skate video that showcases a playful balance of Pop’s tongue-in-cheek humor and skateboarding in the wilderness. The clip gives a glimpse into the dedication and resourcefulness that skaters embody just to get a session in among the iconic flat landscape of the Netherlands.

The adidas Skateboarding by Pop Trading Company Collection drops on February 18, 2023. To purchase, visit the adidas CONFIRMED app, adidas.com, poptradingcompany.com, and select retailers.
