Running enthusiasts and footwear purists alike are well aware of the cultural significance of the Reebok Aztec. An 80’s style that helped re-position Reebok among the top-tier running shoe brands around, the Aztec recently returned to retailers earlier this summer. Now the historic shoe serves as inspiration for a forthcoming collaborative release with Jersey-based Packer Shoes.
Dressing a avant-garde style in OG Aztec coloring, this new Insta Pump Fury takes a nostalgic approach towards summer supremacy with one huge addition – laces. That’s right, not only does the Pump align at the shoe’s tip, but a rare sighting of laces make their presence known through the otherwise seamless construction.
Though this is not the first time the Reebok Aztec has been called upon for creative direction – a Reebok Classic Leather “Aztec” was created in 2013 – this does mark the first time since the shoe’s return from hiatus.
