Nike Takes Us Back To 1972 With The Nike ZoomX VaporFly NEXT% 2

Nike running pays homage to its roots with a new colorway of the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2. Typically the colorways of the NEXT% 2 have been bright and fluorescent for runners but Nike takes us back to 1972 with the retro color palette.

The year 1972 is a huge part of Nike’s history, where founders Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight debuted their first shoes under Nike Inc. (Originally Blue Ribbon Sports), the Nike Cortez and Nike Moon Shoe in 1972.

On top of the funky colorway, there’s 72 patterned over the tongue and a badge on the lateral side of the heel. The ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 comes with a full-length propulsion carbon fiber plate for energy return, ZoomX is implemented for cushioning without sacrificing responsiveness, and a Vaporweave upper for breathability and fit.

The Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 ‘72 is set to release in the near future and will retail for $250 USD at Nike.com and select retailers.
