Nike’s Zoom GP retro is a sneaker that many didn’t expect this year. Yet here it is, with plenty of storylines to go along with Gary Payton’s favored signature shoe.
Among the first to launch this spring is this Seattle Supersonics iteration that focuses on the team’s uniforms from their revered NBA Finals run in the mid ’90s.
Worn during the 1995-96 season when the Supersonics took on the 72-10 Chicago Bulls in the 1996 NBA Finals, a blend of dark green and medium crimson converge on the upper over white midsole tooling. The shoe is finished with suede and leather construction adding a premium touch to the ’90s hoops sneaker.
