Nike has been surgical with retro success over the past few years. Last year it was the Air Max 97 that reigned, dominating sales, championing collaboration and shining on year-end “best of” lists. This year its successor, the Air Max 98, has done much of the same. The Air Max 98, though, shares its 20th-anniversary spotlight with the 1999-produced Air Max Deluxe.
Likely continuing into 2019 for its own 20th marker, the Air Max Deluxe is not only releasing in large numbers in original construction but like the Air Max 97 will also be produced in an Ultra iteration. With sharper lines for a modern sensibility, a contemporary coat warms the silhouette as seen on both upcoming “Triple White” and “Eggplant” styled colorways.
Firm release details for the Nike Air Max Deluxe Ultra remain unknown. Select Air Max Deluxe styles sans Ultra construction drop on July 26.
