Nike Stands for Equality Through the Power of Sports in New Short Film

The national thought consciousness seeks shade in a scorching climate, as temperatures rise due to political incompetence, racial divide and the overarching thoughts of where we’re headed and most importantly, who’s behind the wheel. Equality is as much a concern today as it was decades ago, with  civil rights regression in critical widespread. Nike takes a stand for core human values through the lens of equal opportunity in sport.

In a new ad that features LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Serena Williams, Michael B. Jordan, Victor Cruz, Megan Rapinoe, Delilah Muhammad and Gabby Douglas, director Melina Matsoukas masterfully shows the equivalence in opportunity in sport to the equality that should be available to everyone.

Themed to Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” as sung by Alicia Keys, the touching clip shows Nike’s penchant to speak on matters of global importance and their signature athletes participation to that end.
