Originally developed in 1980, the Air Mariah is a premier lightweight road and track racing shoe from Nike that remained in the line through the 90s. The Nike Air Mariah’s major claim to fame in the history of Nike Running was that it was the first to feature full-length Air.
Fast forwarding to 2009, the latest foam cushioning and upper construction innovation gave Nike Sportswear the tools to make the original Air Mariah even better. Adding Lunar foam, a lightweight and extremely responsive foam developed for our athletes, no sew construction, as well as the latest materials developed allowed the Nike Sportswear footwear designers to re-build a Mariah upper that is lighter and more comfortable than ever.
On August 22, 2009 the Nike Lunar Mariah will be released in three new limited colorways;?Black/White, Black/Varsity Royal, and?Black/Hot Red. The Black/White and Black/Varsity Royal colorways are exclusive to Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer.
