While Nike is widely known for their headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, others, predominately those who purchase from Nike Store on a regular basis, are always excited to receive Swoosh packages from Memphis, Tennessee. The Blues City is also home to Nike’s Distribution Center, one that houses much of the product US consumers purchase. And according to WMC Action 5 News, Nike is forking up a large sum to enhance those operations in Memphis.
Nike has plans to spend upwards to $300 million to upgrade their distribution center. Set to finalize later this year, the renovation will add a wealth of new jobs to the area. The report also insist that Nike is looking to invest in local area schools. Further, for those of you wondering how this will affect you directly, it could mean a more streamlined operating process which may result in faster shipping. Nike’s $300 million injection into their new facility could make it the largest distribution center in the US.
