Where to buy the Nike SB Janoski "Doernbecher"

nike.com

Inspired by her love of the Galapagos Islands, Catalina Vazquez designed her very own Nike SB Stefan Janoski for the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection. Vazquez was diagnosed with Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, a rare illness that causes tumors and cysts to grow in the body.

Being that VHL is a genetic disease, Vazquez uses this to inspire hope for the future, as the side of the midsole reads, “The cure is in our genes.” The front end of the white midsole is molded with tiny hearts, showing Vazquez’s sweetheart spirit. Above the midsole, the Nike SB Stefan Janoski has a two-tone baby blue upper. The toebox has an embroidered butterfly with vibrant colors behind it to signify metamorphosis. As a nature-lover, Vazquez also included small flowers as the eyelets for the laces. A double-helix makes its way around the sneaker, as well as on the bottom of the outsole. Finishing details include “#3” printed on the heel, with a small heart and broken heart on the side of the heel counter.

Catalina Vazquez’s Nike SB Stefan Janoski “Doernbecher” drops on April 30th via SNKRS for $85. Take a look at the sneaker below and follow our Sneaker Release Dates page for upcoming drops.
