Nike is shifting gears as the brand just announced that they will be producing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for healthcare workers on the frontlines. Nike will be utilizing its Nike Air Manufacturing Innovation facilities located in Oregon and Missouri to create PPE.

Nike PPE Face Shield

The full-face shields are powered by an air-purifying respirator (PAPR) lenses to protect against COVID-19. The shields repurpose signature Nike technology such as collar padding, cords originally used for apparel, and the TPU component of Nike Air soles. A shipment was delivered to health professionals at Oregon Health & Science University on April 3, 2020.

Nike will continue its efforts to support those health care works on the frontline by suppling the face shields to health systems in Nike’s World Headquarters region, including Providence, Legacy Health Systems and Kaiser Permanente, and others across the state of Oregon.
