When sifting through the many new silhouettes that will collectively define newness in 2018, Nike’s Moon Racer rises above its contemporaries. The shoe carries a story more valuable than some others, tasked with upholding a legacy that spans back to Nike’s origins.

Inspired by the Nike Moon Shoe circa 1972, the modern-day Moon Racer smartly represents where Nike once was and where they traveled since. Decades distant, the Moon Shoe and the Moon Racer define departure between one another through revelatory midsole tooling. Built for distance racing or long-term running alike, React foam fills out the dense sole unit that is built on the same principle as Nike’s industry-leading ZoomX foam.

Above all the Nike Moon Racer is meant to bridge a gap, to bind a line between the brands past and its present. Three new colorways of the galactic forward silhouette are due in stores on November 1 (two shown here) featuring quite possibly the most striking tonal concepts yet. Each pair is priced at $150.
