Will King James enter his zone this season?
While still showcasing All-NBA caliber play despite a nagging groin injury, the Nike LeBron 16 “Watch the Throne” could be the shoe that takes #23 and the #LeBronWatch Program to the next level.

Rumored to be worn and released at All-Star Weekend, the shoe seen above from @j23app features the same color story and inspiration of previous Watch The Throne colorways, of course paying homage to the album by Kanye West and Jay Z that released in 2011.

During the 2011-12 season, LeBron James showcased a Nike LeBron 9 “Watch the Throne” PE that he wore off-court but never on court. “N*ggas in Paris” producer Hit-Boy was also seen popping up in said sample.

The soulful sample would inspire customs a plenty and more PEs. Famously, LeBron James popped up at Game 5 of the 2014 NBA Finals wearing “Watch the Throne” LeBron 11s.
An unexpected retail release like the “Watch The Throne” Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier VIII Premium would eventually give the public a chance to own said theme on a shoe, though in somewhat scaled down fashion.

If the Nike LeBron 16 “Watch the Throne” does in fact release, it will be interesting to see just how it’s titled. Kanye West is famously at adidas, Jay Z is closely tied to PUMA and the album’s artwork was created by Riccardo Tisci, then at Givenchy and seemingly working less often now with Nike.
LeBron is still clearly a fan of this colorway and this album, coming out to WTT’s first single “H.A.M.” at the 2017 Kith Fashion Week show.
