In unprecedented news, allegation’s of Paris Saint-Germain star, Neymar, have surfaced claiming the ex-Nike athlete split ways with Nike due to sexual assault.

According to reports, the Brazilian national player sexually assaulted one of his employees and an investigation by Nike–through an outside law firm–was enacted. The former female employee claims the alleged incident took place in 2016 at Nike event but was reported in 2018. In the claim, the employee reported that Neymar attempted to force her into performing oral sex in his New York City hotel room. Subsequently, Nike decided to stop featuring the PSG player in all of its marketing amid the investigation.

While the 15-year relationship between the two parties ended, The Journal reported that Neymar still had eight years left under contract. Although not immediately announced, a Nike spokesperson suggested that the split was due to Neymar not cooperating with the investigation. A representitive of Neymar then went on to say that the split was due to commercial issues and not the aforementioned events.

Neymar was also accused in 2019 of Rape but was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. While it is unclear if that was the reason for his departure with Nike, he then went on to sign with PUMA in one of the most surprising deals in recent times.
