Nike Gives The D/MS/X Waffle A “Mean Green” Upcycling

The Nike Waffle holds a historic place within sneaker history, having changed the trajectory of running sneakers. Invented by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, the iconic Waffle sneaker has developed from running icon to lifestyle sensation, most notably and recently through the sacai collaborations. However, don’t discount the sport-utilitarian look of the D/MS/X Waffle, which is being prepped in “Mean Green.”

This rugged iteration of the classic Waffle silhouette is dressed in hues of grey, while also being spotlighted with a lighter green accent. Vintage nylon tongues and off-white laces curate a ‘90s look, while the pair sits atop the Bowerman-experiment Waffle sole. Underfoot, a sustainable Crater midsole finishes off the “Mean Green” upcycling.

Look for the Nike D/MS/X Waffle “Mean Green” to drop in the coming weeks on Nike.com for $100.
