The game of baseball is an American classic, having long traditions within many cities as a favorite past time. Noting the importance of the sport, Nike and Major League Baseball clubs are coming together to create city connect jerseys to celebrate baseball traditions and grow the sport.
Among the inaugural teams set to receive a city connect jersey, the Chicago White Sox have received a new jersey that represents the city’s gritty, hardworking and resilient personality. Southside branding, which became a large part of the city’s urban culture, is displayed on the jersey’s chest, while the back displays the player’s name and number. The pinstripe design and Greyscale pallet pays homage to Chicago’s people and industrial architecture style.
Other team slated to receive a city connect jersey include the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants.
