Nike Running has tapped into a new echelon within the past couple of years. With its Breaking2 Project and its technological advances in running footwear, the Swoosh has become the topic of conversation and the envy of competitors as of late.

Primarily, the Nike Air Zoom AlphaFly NEXT%, which was famously worn by Kipchoge in his sub-2-hour marathon in Vienna, is the embodiment of everything Nike has to offer with its ZoomX foam, Air pod units in the forefoot, a carbon fiber plate, and the AtomKnit upper for flexibility and unprecedented lightness. And while more AlphaFlys are on the way, Nike announces its latest addition to its running arsenal.

The next development in the NEXT% line is on its way as Nike continues to push forward runner’s economy and making each step easier than the previous one for any athlete. The Nike Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% is the perfect partner to the AlphaFly as it embodies the same ethos. While the AlphaFly is tailored for marathons and races, the Tempo is the trainer that gets you to that next level.

The Tempo is engineered for everyday use as it abandoned the carbon fiber plate in place of its all-new composite plate for a softer sensation that helps with one’s stride. The shoe still utilizes the highly acclaimed Air pods in the forefoot as well as the ZoomX foam for the ultimate cushion sensation. In addition to that, the Tempo adds React foam to the heel to weather the extra mileage while giving you an extra hop in your transition.

Another addition to the Tempo is the modification to the outsole as more rubber is added to match the shoe’s durability. Despite the adjustment, Nike created it with a generative design to add as much durability as possible while minimizing any added weight.

The Nike Air Zoom Tempo NEXT% “Rawthentic” retails at $200 and will be available at Nike.com on September 24 for Nike members, followed by a wider release on October 1. Expect more colorways of the Tempo as well.
