When the curtains close on 2019 there’s a high likelihood that the masses won’t consider the Air Max2 Light one of the best retros of the year. Yet truth be told, the re-release is indicative of everything good happening in sneakers today.
A classic design that’s helped shape much of what we see with regards to contemporary design language, the timely retro orbits again for NBA All-Star Weekend with an ode to its host city.
The Charlotte Hornets ’90s uniforms inform the pack with monotone purple and teal styles riddled in mesh and suede overlays. Both share black midsole tooling with contrast Swoosh branding to unify a collection that ties back to the days of Alonzo Morning, Larry Johnson and the great Muggsy Bogues.
