Nike Air 180

The Nike Air Max 180 was known up until its re-release as an “underrated classic.” This was probably due to the fact that since the release of the Nike Air 180 in 1991, it had never been brought out as a retro. The Air Max 180 was a revolutionary shoe which contained 50% more air than previous Air Max shoes. The Nike Air Max 180 took it a step further by having a clear sole that covered the Air unit so one could visibly see the air from 180 degrees. The Nike Air Max 180 was initially released in just a handful of colorways and was only available for one year despite Nike’s huge TV advertising campaign and the fact that the basketball Air Max 180s were on the feet of NBA Dream Team scoring leader Charles Barkley.

The first retro of the Nike Air Max 180 came as a quickstrike (QS). Hardly any knowledge was known about these shoes before their release. They were instantly snatched up by collectors and Air Max 180 fans who have been waiting almost 15 years for their second coming.

The Air Max 180 is also the only shoe to be part of the History of Air package as well as the 10/2 collection. The 10/2 Collection is the signature line for the legendary Lance Armstrong. You can also make custom Air Max 180s at Nike ID.
