A legendary sneaker series, the Nike Air Max line has certainly earned the title of “classic”. From the Air Max 90 to the Air Max 1, there’s certainly a silhouette out there for everyone. Best of all, the selection doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Revealed earlier this year, the new Nike Air Max ZM950 will make its debut in Japan in the “Land of the Rising Sun” color-way.
What looks to be a combination among several Nike Air Max models, the ZM950 brings about a sleeker runner profile using Nike’s famous Air cushioning. The upper’s shape reminds one of the Air Max 97, while its aesthetics generate images of the Air Max 95. Meanwhile, the protruding air bubble and sole are extremely reminiscent of the Air Max 270.
This specific color-way dresses the new Air Max silhouette in a mixture of grey and black hues. However, the rather muted tones allow Japan’s signature red color to shine on the Nike Swoosh and the flag branding on the heel. Akin to the Nike Air Max 95 “Neon”, neon green strokes are featured on the sock liner and the forefoot air bubble.
The Nike Air Max ZM950 “Land of the Rising Sun” will release exclusively in Japan starting on August 15, 2020, through Atmos Japan and SNKRS Japan for ¥19500.
