While earlier reports pinned the release of the 1988 original Air Max 1 “Aqua” for mid November, that time came and went without the shoe landing at retailers. But with the year coming to a close and more previews of the shoe littering the web, its picture comes into clearer view today. As does its release date.
Set to drop at select European retailers on December 16, this anniversary edition of the Nike Air Max 1 is one of the few OGs that didn’t release when the shoe first debuted in March 1987. And original all the same – similar to the “Obsidian” pair – this may be the last time we see this pair for a long while given its three decade marker for the time-honored Tinker Hatfield design.
