The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Chicago” Releases Next Week

Since its inception in 1987, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic Nike Air Max 1 has been a heavy hitter in the sneaker and pop culture world. Now, Nike will be paying homage to Chicago with a special edition “Chicago” colorway.

The upcoming Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Chicago” is dipped in design cues from local shops, all tributing to the Windy City such as the skyline embellished insoles and tongue tags, as well as the grid-patterned collar. The pair’s white, blue chill (nodding to the city’s flag), and wolf grey color scheme is rounded off with 3M reflective details, a sail midsole, a visible Air Max unit, and a black and blue rubber outsole.
