Ken Griffey Jr is one of MLB’s greatest players ever to play the game, along with Bo Jackson he became one of the first MLB players to have a popular sneaker on and off the field. Nike will be releasing Ken Griffey Jr.’s Air Griffey Max 1 in a color combination paying homage to the city of Los Angeles.
The classic Griffey silhouette will feature black nubuck overlays and ‘Los Angeles’ written in cursive on the Purple lace tips. Next, we have Purple and Yellow that’s rumored to be paying homage to the Los Angeles Lakers. Next, we have purple hits that are found in the Swoosh on the toe, the number “24” on the ankle strap, and LAX appearing on the strap. Lastly, we have gradient detailing on the panels for LA’s sunsets to complete the look.
