Nike Air Griffey Max 1 "Freshwater" is Re-Releasing This Month

Ken Griffey Jr., almost singlehandedly, inspired a generation removed to follow America’s greatest pastime. Much of that interest was based on Griffey, and him alone. His style, that swing and of course, his signature shoes.

Arguable the most popular, the Nike Air Griffey Max 1, is set to retro in 2016 in its famed “Freshwater” colorway. Releasing last in 2011, we aren’t terribly far removed from the shoe’s last appearance. Yet, with the start of baseball season, and Swoosh purists always angling for colorways like this one, this is never really a bad move by Nike.
