When the “What the LA” Air Force 1s first surfaced they were celebrated but it was hard not to wonder if and when the other coast would get their due. Well, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “What the NYC” has arrived.
Like their West Coast cousin, this pair packs nods to all the franchises that call the Big Apple home. Knicks and Mets mentions appear in blue, orange and black, Giants and Jets jersey colors come to life, too, with mixed materials and heavy contrast calling out the other local clubs.
Stacked Swooshes, heel tagging and mini Swoosh branding are all as AF1 and NYC as it get. In many ways, the patchwork styling and premium materials mirror the Bespoke Air Force 1s created for years at the 21 Mercer studio.
