Nike continues its Foamposite run as an all-new Nike Air Foamposite One “Whiteout” releasing in 2025.

Originally released in 1997, the silhouette redefined basketball footwear with its futuristic design and innovative construction. Created by designer Eric Avar, the Foamposite One was ahead of its time, featuring a molded polyurethane upper that gave it a sleek, almost alien-like look. Despite its unconventional design, the sneaker quickly gained popularity, thanks to University of Arizona’s Mike Bibby and NBA Hall of Famer Penny Hardaway, who made it famous during his days with the Orlando Magic.

The Foamposite One’s standout feature is its durable, one-piece shell that molds to the foot over time, providing a customized fit. The shoe also includes a carbon fiber shank for added stability and a full-length Zoom Air unit for responsive cushioning, making it as performance-driven as it is stylish.

Over the years, the Air Foamposite One has seen countless colorways and collaborations, maintaining its relevance in sneaker culture. From the iconic “Royal Blue” (returning September 2024) to limited-edition releases like the “Galaxy” (returning in 2025) and “ParaNorman,” the Foamposite One has solidified its place in sneaker history.

The Swoosh will continue the legacy with the upcoming Nike Air Foamposite One “Whiteout” colorway.

The Nike Air Foamposite One “Whiteout” is releasing on June 13, 2025, for $230 via SNKRS and select retailers.
