In the wake of the unfortunate passing of Muhammad Ali, we were collectively forced to think back to our favorite memories of the people’s champ. For me, in my lifetime, none were more influential than his towering appearance at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.
Ali, as courageous and as fearless as any man could be, gracefully lit the Olympic torch to ignite the games on US soil. It was a very human moment in sports most of us will never forget, certainly not myself.
