Nice Kicks x PUMA Basket-Suede Celebrates Memorable Moment in Sports

Forty-eight years ago at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games, PUMA was standing on top of the medal stand on the grandest stage of world sports when American sprinters Tommie Smith and John Carlos stood with pride and conviction raising their fists during the American national anthem.

This weekend, Nice Kicks and PUMA team up to release the Basket-Suede combining two material executions of the brand’s top-selling silhouette. The black perforated leather calls out the “Basket” and black suede represents the “Suede.” Metallic Gold branding pays homage to the gold medal won by Tommie Smith and the medal stand where he wore the PUMA Suede nearly a half-century ago.

The tongue features dual branding between PUMA and Nice Kicks along with the heel and Olympic Rings on the insoles.

The Nice Kicks x PUMA Basket-Suede releases at all three Nice Kicks shops on Saturday, November 5th priced at $90. A limited number of pairs will be available at the Nice Kicks booth at ComplexCon and will also be available online at shopnicekicks.com.
