The Super Team 33, a.k.a the best of the best at New Balance, hand made these new 998’s right here in the USA, on the fifth floor of the company’s’ plant in Skowhegan, Maine.
I don’t even know where to begin on the exquisite details of these shoes. The materials are top of the line. Velvet lining, embossed Super Team 33 scripted logo, and a flannel wrap dust cover…wait, that’s only the box you’ll be storing them in when they are not on your feet. Let me get on to the shoes themselves. The supple suede, wool suiting material and premium leather are just the beginning. Three colorways, brown, black, and grey give you the option of matching anything. Laces inspired by suit ties are included, as are solid colors to match the uppers. | The details on these shoes are incomparable. The inner lining of the shoe is lined with a traditional pinstripe pattern, representing a dress shirt like you would wear under a suit jacket. The leather, croc-embossed detailing on the outer was imagined from men???s leather dress gloves and the gloss markings on the sole unit were inspired by a man???s dress belt. Eyeglasses inspired the tortoise shell pattern found on the “N” of each shoe. Imagine some mens dress gloves, leather, croc-embossed detailing, yeah that’s found on the outer. Imagine a man???s leather dress belt, and you’ll see the gloss markings on the sole unit that was the outcome of that inspiration. The last of the details of the Men???s Suit collection include signature embroidery on the tongue of each shoe in addition to a collection tag, similar to a suit label found on the inner breast pocket of a suit, stitched into the supple calfskin leather insole bearing the Super Team 33 Limited Edition signature. |
