Since the revival of the New Balance 550, we’ve seen the sneaker return in almost every two-tone color combo imaginable. But as of recent, the Boston-based sportswear brand has been offering more unique colorways of the retro basketball silhouette, which we see here on the upcoming New Balance 550 “Marquette.”
This New Balance 550 takes inspiration from Marquette University, a private school in Wisconsin that boasts a long list of accomplished alumni including Dwayne Wade and Jimmy Butler. Marquette University’s school colors are seen across the sneaker with Blue and Gold throughout. The upper has a Sail leather base with perforated overlays and a corresponding midsole. The signature New Balance “N” gets dressed in light blue, which complements the sneaker’s outsole. The area around the ankle is Gold and is paired with a Navy Blue heel tab and trim lining. The sneaker also features Wine details on the heel counter, tongue, and 550 branding.
