“Everybody’s Welcome” As New Balance Releases Their 2021 Pride Collection

June is Pride Month, and with it around the corner, New Balance is releasing the “Everybody’s Welcome” Collection to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. The collection consists of apparel and footwear and a short film about the Front Runners New York Pride Run, directed by Rose Bush.

Hong Kong-based artist Zioe Lam designed the “Everybody’s Welcome” collection, inspired by the LGBTQIA+ community and rooted in vibrancy and playfulness. “Zoie Lam’s core value is positivity and she celebrates and encourages ambiguity and fluidity through her art. As a brand, our hope is that this collection will help foster connections with each other, regardless of our differences,” says Kristen Mackenzie, Sr. Marketing Manager for New Balance.

The vibrant graphic mentioned previously can be seen fully on the upper of the New Balance Fresh Foam Tempo, which sits on a white Fresh Foam midsole with a red gradient pattern on the heel. The black tongue dons a white tongue tag with the NB logo inside of a heart. The New Balance 574 takes a more subdued look, with the upper dressed in different tones and materials of grey. The perforated tongue uses a white tongue tag with the NB logo also inside of a heart. The laces come in a gradient rainbow pattern for a pop of color, and the sneaker is finished off with a gum outsole.

Also, with this collection, New Balance is continuing its support of GLSEN and its “Changing the Game” program, which is designed to create safer school environments for all K-12 LGBTQIA+ athletes with a $100,000 donation over the next two years.
