ASICS is once again teaming up with women’s sneaker retailer NAKED Copenhagen, this time on a vegan-friendly GEL-1130. The main goal of the pairing was to produce a more thoughtful and sustainable sneaker without losing any design and construction aspects that we’ve come to love from more traditional, animal-based materials.
The upcoming NAKED Copenhagen x ASICS GEL-1130 is inspired by ASICS’s “live uplifted” motto. The vintage-esque pair boasts sleek design details along with a versatile color palette. Recycled materials are incorporated into the mesh upper, tongue, and synthetic overlays. Even the sage and brushed silver base is comprised of recycled content.
Rounding out the specs of the collaborative silhouette is the GEL-equipped off-white midsole, the sage TRUSSTIC™ torsion arch, and the recycled cardboard shoebox. Lastly, water-based detailing is found on the Kobebranded sockliner, in honor of ASICS’s hometown.
