Decatur Dan: “The 13 is probably my all-time favorite Jordan silhouette – the last great one by Tinker, in my opinion. In 7th grade, we played our basketball games on Saturday, and our school colors were actually grey, blue and white. So, I remember distinctively waking up my dad, going to the mall, buying these shoes with the money I had saved and wearing them on the court – playing in them. Nobody did that. They were expensive, so you know, you wanted to wear them in class, keep them as clean as possible. For me, I felt, if you look good, you feel good, and if you feel good, you’ll play good. I never really wore the team-issued shoes, because I had to have my own personality. Now, it’s more of a shoe that I rock casually, not even with jeans. I kind of reserve them now for chill moments, like the slides.”
