The man, the brand, the owner, the social media guru, Michael Jordan is already making good on his Charlotte Hornets name-change by bringing out new shoes. After previewing a plethora of Air Jordan “Hornets” PEs, MJ chose the Air Jordan 13 PE to debut first.
Lucky number 13 features what looks like a white leather base and dark purple mudguard. The preview pic of the shoes allude to a purple lining, with one assuming teal would play into the branding or outsole detailing. While “Hornets” PEs actually releasing may register more as a dream than reality, the latter isn’t too far fetched. Numerous “PEs” first spotted on MJ have made their way to retail, namely various Air Jordan 11 Lows. In addition, Jordan has been smart about leveraging his ownership of the Charlotte franchise to the color range of his signature series, releasing a Bobcats take on the Air Jordan 10 last season.
