Legendary Japanese high-street label, MASTERMIND, creates their very own Vans Vault capsule collection presented by END. Known for their dark and dreary aesthetic, MASTERMIND brings their iconic look to a duo of Vans silhouettes that includes the Old Skool Cap LX and Sk8-Hi Cap LX.
While simple in essence, MASTERMIND never skips over the details. Both sneakers come in contrasting colorways of white and black to stay true to Masaaki Homma’s signature color palette. This collaboration seemed inevitable as Vans’ iconic checkerboard print compliments MASTERMIND’s punk aesthetic naturally. The Vans Old Skool Cap LX has a canvas base that is embellished with leather patches and unconventional details. The velvet toebox proudly boasts “MASTERMIND WORLD,” which matches the embossed font on the midsole. The Vans Sk8-Hi Cap LX has a classic suede base with zig-zag stitching along the Jazz stripe. The medial side of the sneaker has MASTERMIND’s iconic skull and cross-bones logo. To finish, the sneaker sits atop a mismatched midsole.
