The adidas Samba has returned as one of 2021’s sleeper silhouettes, in large part due to a photo by new adidas Basketball director Jerry Lorenzo. However, rather than for basketball use, the pair’s historic activity has been soccer. Given the ADV tooling, the multi-purpose sneaker has returned ready to handle the deck. In its latest offering, pro skater Maité Steenhoudt has been selected for her first collaboration with adidas on the skate sneaker.
Steenhoudt’s Samba is showcased in a black hairy suede, accented by appearances of white and gold. Already a highly detailed sneaker, the pro skater has thrown additional features to be marveled, including colored lining, a translucent outsole, and unique insole. “Maité” is seen on the tongue, marked in gold lettering.
