As football fans gear up for the new season, LAFC and adidas Originals have teamed up on two special iterations of the latter’s Samba silhouette.
The forthcoming LAFC x adidas Samba “#StreetByStreet” range will include two limited-edition sneakers: the Heart of Gold Samba and the Street By Street Samba, and marks the first time a club in Major League Soccer history to collaborate with adidas Originals on a co-branded Samba.
First up is the #HeartofGold Samba which features a primarily gold body with black laces. With wear, the gold on the sneaker will begin to fade, revealing the #StreetByStreet Samba with a few gold elements remaining, including the gold three-stripes and the LAFC details. The #HeartofGold Samba will be given to the Los Angeles community heroes and frontline workers, who were nominated by members of the LAFC community.
Next up the #StreetByStreet Samba features an all-black body, gold Three Stripes branding, and “Los Angeles” showcased on the top stripe. Rounding out the design is the iconic LAFC crest and “Street x Street, Block x Block, One x One,” motifs.
While the #HeartofGold Samba will not be available for retail purchase, the limited-edition #StreetByStreet Samba will be available beginning August 22 select adidas retailers.
Other clubs that recently received custom Club sneakers are Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.
