Vans is continuing its celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Half Cab and they’ve teamed up with Labor Skate Shop in Chinatown NYC on the iconic skate sneaker taking inspiration from a mythical NYC creature.
Inspired by the Sewer Gator, a mythical creature that roams through the underbelly of NYC, the Half cab features a black faux croc upper with green suede overlays. Vans Half Cab branding is found on the tongue tag and on the lateral side of the ankle with a LABOR tag seen by the lace overlays. A glossy black midsole features a recut Duracap underlay and Popcush insoles with a Sickstick rubber compound used on the waffle outsole to finish off the sneaker.
The Labor x Vans Skate Half Cab is set to drop on August 19th exclusively at Labor Skate Shop for $90. For those in the NYC area, a launch party for the collaborative release is happening on the 18th at Vans Skate Space 198 in Brooklyn with a Best Trick contest.
