There’s a noticeable distance between Kinfolk’s founding members. Touching the far reaches of Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles, Kinfolk hinges its unified frequency on sensibilities that transcend the distance between us or, more particularly, them. Launching their brand a decade ago, in 2008, in their tenth tour honing those cultural ties that bind us is still the focus of their movement.
The crew of multidisciplinary talents lend those principles to its adidas Ultra Boost Collective release. One would think that a Kinfolk collaboration — with its many viewpoints to consider — would be overtly dense in theme. Here the opposite is true.; the team focuses on a singular yet collective thought.
A disciplined study of blue shades informs the two-tone Primeknit style. Nubuck leather vamping smartly marks the overlay adding further refinement to the well-thought collaboration. While on the surface minimalism leaps from the shoe, there’s also an underlying meticulousness. That is to be applauded as it’s not easy to form when there are many minds at work.
