Kim Jones Spins The Converse Chuck 70 With A TPU Exoskeleton

Following his lauded team up with Nike on a pair of Air Max 95s, fashion designer Kim Jones is this time joining forces with Converse for two various spins on the classic Chuck 70.

Known for balancing high fashion with streetwear cues, Kim perfectly injects contemporary utilitarian themes into both update Converse Chuck 70s, including a transparent TPU exoskeleton and speed lace eyelets. Both pairs are constructed out of 12-ounce canvas and arrive in either a “Black” or “Natural Ivory” outfit elevated with mirrored Kim Jones branding on the tongue and sockliner. Remaining the same for both options is an off-white reengineered outsole with a diamond grid that helps to increase traction.

On the collaboration, Jones shared in an official press release, “The design approach for the shoe was very straightforward — taking a classic shoe and then almost encasing it in something to protect it.”
