Known for its extensive range of collaborators, adidas Originals has tapped Kasing Lung, the first Chinese winner of the European picture book contest, and Disney’s Mickey Mouse to makeover three of its classic models.
The Kasing Lung x Mickey Mouse x adidas Originals collection includes three coveted models: the adidas Superstar, Stan Smith, and Nizza Hi. Each of the aforementioned silhouettes has been decked out with the lovable Mickey Mouse using color painting and graffiti styling, who has been reinterpreted by Lung as a mad scientist.
Aiming to tell a story, each pair emphasizes Mickey’s adventurous personality and sees him placed amongst starry skies and other planets or conducting his own scientific experiments. Lung includes many elements of his past work, including the mystery of the universe, science, and the street.
Look for the Kasing Lung x Mickey Mouse x adidas Originals Collection to release in Asia on December 12. A stateside release has yet to be announced.
