ISIS has a new enemy – Nike.

The radical group claims that the word ‘Nike’ sounds similar to Arabic slang for sexual intercourse. ISIS also points out that the brands name was inspired by the Greek goddess of victory. Effective immediately, members of ISIS have been forbidden from wearing any Nike products punishable by fines, imprisonment, and even whipping.

Below is a pamphlet about the ban on Nike along with other wearables forbidden by ISIS to be worn by its members.

Interestingly enough, no mention was made by ISIS about the Nike Air Bakin that featured a new rendition of the Nike “Air” logo that apparently resembled “Allah” written in Arabic. The release of the shoes caused major outcry over the logo which lead to the Nike Air Bakin, dubbed by some as the “Nike Air Allah”, to be recalled where Nike covered the heel logo with a black patch with a Nike Air logo and resold at Nike outlets.

We reached out to Nike about the move by ISIS, but they declined to comment at this time.
