The Jordan Series 01 has colorways dedicated to Michael Jordan’s baseball past, his brother, and his mother, and on this colorway, it pays homage to the late great UNC basketball coach Dean Smith.
Sitting on a white vulcanized sole, the upper consists of white suede on the lateral side with white leather on the medial. The toebox is dressed in a Carolina blue suede with “Dear Dean,” stitched on the lateral side. In the same Carolina blue, a Jumpman tag is on the heel. The breathable mesh tongue is in white, with the Jumpman tongue tag is in a dull orange with “Dear Dean,” seen again. “Swing for the fences” is adorned in the insole with “There Was Never Any Doubt” and “It Went Down In The Backyard” embossed on the gum outsole.
