Ja Morant is on His Vancouver Grizzly with the Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” PE

Nike Basketball has a winner in Ja Morant and the Nike Ja 1 — Nike’s first Gen Z signature shoe athlete.

As a part of the Ja 1 rollout, the Swoosh cooked up a hardwood classic colorway, inspired by the Vancouver Grizzlies and their iconic teal jerseys with the Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” iteration.

In addition to the retail version, Nike created the Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” PE, built with a predominantly white upper with teal, red, and brown details and more visually captivating scratch marks across the upper, Swoosh, and midsole.

The Memphis Grizzly guard notched another impressive performance in the Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” PE, locking down a triple-double with a 39/10/10 stat line in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers to close out the month of February.

The Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” PE won’t, unfortunately, see a retail release, but the in-line teal version and other colorways will release in the coming months, as we saw with Nike’s Mt. 12Skii installation with the Nike Ja 1 “Scratch” and the Swarovksi-infused Nike Ja 1 “Midnight” drops.
