The dual drops of this year’s adidas Consortium tour have been awesome at moments but occasionally hard to follow. Seemingly saving the best for last, the INVINCIBLE x NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas NMD resurrects the R1 style that dominated many a year end list in 2016, pairing it with two titans in the collab game.
The result is a noir but nuanced take on the Nomad model, with the Taiwan based INVINCIBLE showing homage to Japanese label NEIGHBORHOOD’s history with the Stripes. This is done by bringing back styling seen on a souvenir jacket and Superstar made by NEIGHBORHOOD in years past.
