History will be made on September 2, 2017, as adidas is set to release their first ever collaboration with another footwear brand. The Hender Scheme x adidas collaboration takes inspiration from existing silhouettes in the brand archive and elevates their construction even further. The chosen styles include the renowned Superstar, MicroPacer, and NMD models — combining their storied lineage with unparalleled Japanese craftsmanship.
The intention behind selecting these models was to unite and celebrate the contrast between heritage and current, while appreciating each brand’s early roots and how technologically advanced each partner has become in their own way. Hender Scheme has created similar iterations of the Superstar and Micropacer within their Manual Industrial Products (MIP) line, but this was the first time these silhouettes each featured technological advancements, Three Stripes branding and the addition of the NMD. Each pair is also designed with the finest veg-tan leather, which is intended to age over time with a caramelized patina.
