2011

Due to a lockout, the 2011 NBA season kicked off on Christmas day. With a late start to the season, Nike Basketball held nothing back for their ’11 Christmas collection. King James continued the holiday’s color combination on his latest silhouette the Nike LeBron 9. KD opted for a predominantly copper upper on the KD Zoom KD IV, which some say was inspired by his mother’s holiday baking, while others believe it was created to pay homage to one of Durant’s favorite Christmas gifts, the copper Foamposite. The Nike Zoom Kobe VII featured animal print and a very unique color combination that was also implemented on the 2011 Hyperdunk “Christmas” PEs. Amare Stoudemire even got a chance to debut the Air Max Sweep Thru decked out in Christmas colors.
