No two paths to the league are the same. Regardless of the caliber of the player, the trajectory to the NBA is a journey like no other. Darius Bazley, however, truly made the journey his own.

The high school phenom de-committed from his Syracuse offer and even skipped out on playing in the G League. Instead, Bazley would dedicate himself to becoming a New Balance intern while also becoming the first player to sign ahead of its basketball resurgence.

The “Gap Year” documentary captures Bazley’s everyday routine of training for the league while also being an integral part of the New Balance team — literally.

Take a look at a few stills from the documentary below. “Gap Year” is available now across all major streaming platforms.

“Gap Year” was produced by The SpringHill Company’s UNINTERRUPTED in association with SLAM & RTG Features with distribution from 1091 Pictures.
